We love our barbeque and know you will too...

We are very proud of our team and all those who support us in our endeavors into the wacky, wild, wonderful, world of competitive Barbeque.
The 2011 season is over at long last. It was a rough year in so much as we got burned out about midway through the season and struggled through July and August. Because of this, we didn't sign up for a few contests also there were a couple injuries along the way which caused us to miss one contest ( the gracious organizer was nice enough to keep the entry fee - their name will not be mentioned, but we will never think about returning). One of the Traegers shot craps (the electronics we labotimized) which ultimately turned out for the best since we then turned to using only Ugly Drum Smokers (UDS) the rest of the year and had better products. We never cracked the top 10 overall, but seemed to score well in one or two meats per contest which tells me it's the cook and not the recipes.
This off season, we are trying to perfect the art of cooking on the UDS's looking for more consistency. We will be using four UDS's in 2012 the ones for pork and brisket will be hooked up to the Stoker BBQ System while the rib and chicken UDS's will rely on drawing air on their own. This new setup allows us to get more sleep Friday night (BTW, the age old question is: who is responsible for enforcing quite times? As far as I can tell it has to be Big Foot - rumors have it that quiet time exists, but you really never see it!)
Also, last year, we had Ken with Excessive Behavior and Alan with IHC cook with us and it was a treat - not sure if they will be joining us again in 2012, but would welcome either of them again. Rumor has it that my brother Don will be leaving the mountains of Colorado and coming the flat lands of Kansas once again to help me and learning more about the whole professional BBQing.

Our AWARD WINNING commercially bottled “Funny Farm BBQ Original Competition BBQ Sauce” is now available!. Please check out the list of stores on the Shop @ the farm page , but in case you can’t find it in your favorite store, you can order here on this site or see us at a BBQ competition. After you have had an opportunity to sample the sauce, please let us know what you think. If sales go well, we plan on adding a Sweet & Sassy BBQ Sauce, mustard sauce, and a Hot & Smoky BBQ Sauce down the line.
We plan to continuously up date these pages, especially the photo page, the videos page, and add links when new friends are made or new products or sites are found. So please check back often.
We have decided to stop updating information on the Funny Farm BBQ Team on both Twitter and MySpace. The sole updates on the Team over social networks will be on facebook. Sorry to those on Twitter and MySpace, but time limitations (and to be honest, excitement from the shiny glow from these sites dimming) has caused us to reduce the number of information sites we maintain.
Just click Funny Farm BBQ to go to the team group on facebook.
