We are very proud of our team and all those who support us in our endeavors into the wacky, wild, wonderful, world of competitive Barbeque.
We are in the midst of the 2010 season and would like to thank all of you for your valued support of the team over the past few years. The new trailer, new cooking procedures and new recipes have re-invigorated the team. We have decided to add to the number of contests we will be competing at, some of which we have cooked at in prior years and a couple of new contests, so please check out the schedule by clicking on the button to the left.
The AWARD WINNING Funny Farm BBQ Original Competition BBQ Sauce has received more acclaim: it is the 2010 Great American Barbecue Baste of the Year! The contest was held on April 25th and the results were announced on a local TV station later that evening (check out the clip under the videos tab).
We are still thinking about purchasing a couple smokers during the season, but first want to get our feet wet with at least one contest and wait for the weather to warm up so we can do some test cooks before rolling them out at a contest.
The Funny Farm BBQ Team participated in about a half dozen barbeque competitions in 2009, and had a blast. We are so happy to have had Ken, Jan, Pam along with a few others help us along the way and would like to thank them for their help and assistance during this past year. We are hoping to have as much fun in 2010!

-> Gene Beliner - co-cook for the Great American BBQ & member of the Excessive Behavior BBQ team;
-> Marc Matthews - Owner of Funny Farm BBQ & Pitmaster for the Funny Farm BBQ team; and
-> Jan Thompson - Lieutenant General of the Funny Farm BBQ team, box builder extraordinaire, and sides specialist, plus being the glue that holds the team together.
Our AWARD WINNING commercially bottled “Funny Farm BBQ Original Competition BBQ Sauce” is now available!. Please check out the list of stores on the Shop @ the farm page , but in case you can’t find it in your favorite store, you can order here on this site or see us at a BBQ competition. After you have had an opportunity to sample the sauce, please let us know what you think. If sales go well, we plan on adding a Sweet & Sassy BBQ Sauce, mustard sauce, and a Hot & Smoky BBQ Sauce down the line.
We plan to continuously up date these pages, especially the photo page, the videos page, and add links when new friends are made or new products or sites are found. So please check back often.
We have decided to stop updating information on the Funny Farm BBQ Team on both Twitter and MySpace. The sole updates on the Team over social networks will be on facebook. Sorry to those on Twitter and MySpace, but time limitations (and to be honest, excitement from the shiny glow from these sites dimming) has caused us to reduce the number of information sites we maintain.
